Choose startup directories by product stage

An early access page and a mature software product need different submission lists. Read each platform’s criteria before making an account. For a prelaunch startup, explain what visitors can do today: join a waitlist, request access or try a working version. For a launched product, lead with the task it solves, the actual pricing model and a usable demo. Don’t describe a waitlist as a finished app.

For a broader software listing, browse our SaaS directories. If AI is your product's main feature, start with the AI directories instead.

Prepare a startup directory submission brief

Keep the product name, public URL, tagline, description, square logo and screenshots in one folder. Write the audience in plain language. “Invoice software for freelance designers” tells a reviewer more than “the future of finance.” Use a monitored email address for verification messages. Search for your startup before submitting so you can claim or update an existing listing rather than create a duplicate.

Use our directory submission checklist to put your brief together and work through each form.

Keep launches separate from routine listings

Some startup directories are closer to launch communities. They may ask for a launch date, a maker profile or answers to visitor questions. Put those tasks in a separate calendar. A submission service can help with suitable directory forms, but it cannot replace your product knowledge when prospective users ask how something works. Product Hunt launches remain with the founder or team; they are not included in EasySubmits submissions.

Compare Product Hunt alternatives if you want a launch event as well as a directory listing.

Track the result of each submission

Record the date, status, account owner and published URL. Submitted, pending and approved are different outcomes. Check that an approved page links to your correct domain and describes the current product. Measure referral visits and meaningful actions such as trial starts. A listing that sends the right few visitors may be more useful than a badge on a site with a larger headline audience.

Our DR checker gives you a backlink benchmark to record alongside visits and signups.
